Basics of Online Video Poker
The objective in video poker is to make the best 5-card poker hand according to the payout table for the game. Each Video Poker Machine has its own payout table, so make sure you check them out accordingly.
Placing a Video Poker Bet Online
To place a single bet just click on the “Bet One” button; every time you click on it, the bet will increase in value. You can click it up to 5 times, or choose the “Bet Max” button for an automatic maximum wager. Clicking on “Collect” will return your bet to zero and you can start again, place your bet once more, whether it is using the “Bet One” or the “Bet Max” button.
Progressive Jackpots in Online Video Poker
If the video poker machine you are playing has a progressive jackpot, entering a maximum bet will pay off the full jackpot amount if you get the highest hand on the machine.
When your first 5 cards are dealt
After you’ve placed your bet, click on “Deal/Draw” to get your first 5 cards, face up. If you had selected “Bet Max”, the game will automatically deal the cards for you. The “Hold/Cancel” button under each card will allow you to choose which cards you wish to keep playing with, and which ones you will be discarding. Click again on “Deal/Draw” to get new cards.
Online Video Poker Payouts
The online video poker payout chart is specific to each game, and thus, only the winning combinations stated in each of these charts will be eligible for prizes. Some games have a bonus feature that gives you the chance to double the bet and therefore, double the win. When you get a winning hand, this bonus option will appear and you can click on the “Double Up” button which will in turn deal you 4 new cards, face down, and one card face up. You need to click on the card you wish to flip over, and if it is higher than the dealer’s card, you win. If you choose not to double the bet, simply click “Collect” and you will bank your winnings.
