Online Bingo Glossary
Listed below are a few bingo terms used in our online bingo site, because granted we have our online bingo experience and players are constantly using "bingo lingo", and this, we would like to share with those of you who may be new to online bingo! If there is a bingo term you are aware of that we have not listed here, please feel free to let us know!
Bingo board:
5x5 matrix filled in with numbers that are a graphic representation of the actual printed bingo cards.
Newsletter:
Electronic means of communication, through an online newsletter, usually issued on a specific time basis, consisting of general news, updates and information regarding online bingo games, contests, benefits etc... to all members of Vics-Bingo.
CM:
Refers to the Chat Monitor or Chat Manager. They are the hosts for the chat games played in bingo rooms and are also in charge of maintaining order and fairness in such games. They also keep track of chat game winnings.
Caller:
In real life bingo this would be the person that calls out the numbers on the bingo balls, however in online bingo, it is a voice emitted by the software that operates the bingo games.
Jackpot:
It is a large prize that starts at an initial amount set by the house and increases with the wagers of all players participating in a specific bingo game, and thus the number of bingo cards in play.
Fixed Jackpot:
Similar large prize, however this one is fixed in value PRIOR to the game beginning and it does NOT increase in correlation to the amount of wagers or number of players in a specific bingo room.
Progressive Jackpot:
Large prize that has initial base and increases in value as number of wagers and thus number of cards being played increase. The progressive jackpot differs from a regular jackpot in that it is awarded to the player(s) that hit a specific bingo pattern in a specific amount of bingo calls. The prize and the amount of calls for a win, may vary depending on house settings.
Referral:
Someone who is referred to our online bingo site, and creates an account, by an already existing and active member.
Bingo Pattern:
A specific number combination on a bingo card that forms a shape or pattern.
Special Patterns:
Bingo games in which patterns share a specific theme and are played during a specified time frame.
Bingo Tournament:
A set of bingo games played under a defined topic, pre-set dates and particular rules. Usually played amongst a group of participants who compete for a special prize awarded to winning players at the end of the specified period.
Roomies:
Players logged in chat room while they are playing bingo games, chatting with other "roomies" and playing chat games.
VIP Level:
Different levels players are categorized in. Levels are determined by points that increase according to the amount of dollars wagered and game played.
Bonus Transfer:
An exchange of bonus money to cash balance. There is a fee incurred with this exchange.
Buddy Transfer:
When one player transfers cash from his/her account balance to another player's account balance
Chat Comp:
Bonus money granted as winnings in chat games
Deposit Bonus:
Bonus money adjustment based on specific percentages granted on all deposits made by members into their Vics-Bingo accounts.
Free Bonus:
Small amount of bonus money credited to a players account, which is not related to deposit history and serves more as an incentive for people to try out the games.
Bingo Promotion:
Specially designed game and game related activities during a specific amount of time, and with special prizes. Created as an incentive for players to have fun and win big prizes.
